1. Help me improve this wiki!

See WikiStyleGuide and WikiCleanup for how to get started.

2. Don't write to me, use the list!

I (like many other developers) do not have time to answer all the mail I get. If you are looking for help with Mercurial and aren't planning to pay for my time, you should send your questions and responses to the mailing list (no subscription necessary!) rather than to me privately. Answering a question in public is a service to the Mercurial community, answering it privately is not and is not a good use of my time. I will forward or delete such correspondence.

3. Contact

(if you're not looking for commercial support, please direct all email to the public mailing list)

Commercial Mercurial support: http://selenic.com or mpm at selenic.com

IRC: mpm on irc.freenode.net, office hours from 12 to 5 CST/CDT

Blog: internal fragmentation

Twitter: mpmselenic

4. Fellowship project

Current status: funded through June 2011

I've recently begun an effort to enable myself to work on the Mercurial project full-time over the next year. I'm planning to focus on enabling more developers with patch review and design assistance (I'm going to have official office hours), to get more focus on quality issues (bugs, docs), and make progress on some of the big items in our feature wishlist (parent deltas, lightweight copies, better wire protocol, etc.).

If your company is a serious user of Mercurial or sells Mercurial-based products or services, please consider accelerating Mercurial's development by sponsoring me. I'll add your company to a sponsor page on the Mercurial website and give you an opportunity to give input on development areas that are important to you. I'm looking for about 10-15 companies to donate between $2k and $25k each. Donations will be handled and administered by our parent non-profit, the Software Freedom Conservancy. Contact me at mpm at selenic.com for more details.

Here's an OStatic interview about this effort.

If you're interested in making individual donations to this project or Mercurial in general, visit our donation page!
